VISITATION:  Wednesday, May 25, 2016 and Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Leroy Yoder residence.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  9 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Norman Yoder residence.  Burial to follow in the Yoder’s Cemetery, Licking Township Crawford County, IL.

Leroy J. Yoder, 87, rural Oblong, IL passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at his residence.

Born on December 24, 1928 in Dover, DE, he was the son of Jonas Yoder and Mattie (King) Yoder.  On February 24, 1949 he married Mary S. Yoder and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2009.

Leroy was a lifelong farmer and he was a member of Old Order Amish.

Survivors include his three sons and daughters-in-law Freeman and Mary Yoder, St. Johns, MI, Leslie and Lydia Yoder, Oblong, IL and Joe and Irene Yoder, Oblong IL; his eight daughters and sons-in-law Alma and Eli Miller, Lamar, MO, Emma and David Miller, Dover, DE, Martha and Jonas Miller, Londonderry, OH, Rhoda and John Mast Opdyke, IL, Barbara and Daniel Miller, Dover, DE, Erma and Emery Mast, Belle Rive, IL, Mary and Mahlon Mast, Belle Rive, IL, Freida and Eli Miller, Dover, DE; 73 grandchildren; 212 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Lydia and Simon Brennaman, Rocky Comfort, MO; five brothers and sisters-in-law Elmer and Mary Yoder, Marion, KY, Dan and Emma Yoder, Marydel, DE, Ammon and Lizzie Yoder, Dover, DE, Noah Yoder, Dover, DE, and Jonas Jr. and Fannie Yoder, Marion, KY and a brother-in-law Abner Miller, Hartly, DE.

Preceding Leroy in death were his parents, his wife, one brother John Yoder, one sister Lena Miller, one son Johnny, one infant daughter; one grandson Henry Miller; a grandchild that lived for a day then passed away; four grandchildren that were still born and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Yoder.
